The Day I celebrated my --/-- birthday!

Hello Everyone!
Just recently on the 30th November I celebrated my -- birthday!  (most appropriately not disclosing the age). And must admit; it was as exciting and fun and perhaps better than the earlier years. Its almost like with every passing year one grows (not every one definitly but most who aspire to) and with growth comes Maturity, Self Realisation (little by little I say) and more joy, happiness, satisfaction then you experienced the previous year.
Now I do realise I speak all philophical and positive (too much for most to handle) but the reason why I started this blog this late and I speak of it all is out of experience and the potential of discovering so much more in life.

My dearest friends took me out for a drive the previous night where we did cut my cake and then another dear friend dropped in to wake me up with my favourite treats and work colleagues arranged a little session for me and I ended my day with dinner with my closest friends (while I was over dressed for the occassion); I loved every minute of that day.

Must admit most times I am simply trying hard to have a good time and see the positive out of what I am doing/prospects of doing and keeping negativity at bay. Soon this will get incorporated as a routine (that I am already observing) and translate into a way of life - healthy positive and motivational living. To be able to have many experiences varied in nature, definitly keeps me going. For instances @ Flora2000 I already have a team of 2 Executives reporting to me and together I aim to take this team to a greater height of Sales and Satisfaction for all Stakeholders of the Company (far fetched I know but this is how we establish Visions).

Season time ahead yet again, with Christmas and New Years and Red/Green/White flashing all over the city. Radiant colours bright lighting and cool winds carrying the air of joy and celebration; should I hope, sum up the month of December 2010. And what better way to bid Goodbye to this excellent year; so fruitful and adventerous!

Honestly 2010 has been the best year yet - layed the floor for the better ones ahead ;)

Birthday season & time to reunite with friends!

September 2010 saw the advent of Birthdays of my best friends and that continues till present year ending. It were fun times planning surprises for each of them; some total disasters like the big group plan  for Nikita at Gada Da Vida and some turned happy moments - Natasha surprise room party. Ofcourse then there are the brilliant plans like cutting the birthday cake for Neha at Tiger Hill Lonavala at 12:30 AM, then hanging out on the hill top with coolw winds and stary skies (lets not forget the shooting stars) and bonfire and hukka and all things wonderful. Initially we thought it could have been risky with 5 girls and only 1 guy renting a car all night and I swear I was worried till the last minute how this would shape up because I had mixed reviews of this place plus it may not be safe etc etc... I tried my best to keep the group and birthday girl happy and making the journey a fun filled time together but till the very last minute of us approaching the Hill Top I was unsure of what I got everyone into. Alas! those 2 hours spent at night were one of the best memories the Apartment (my best friends group) spent together.

Some where in the middle in Oct, I was in Thailand - 10 days of fun, sightseeing, scams, exploring and Shopping! Though we only did Pattaya and Bangkok, the trip was extremly relaxing and rejuvinating, the shopping was satisfying and time spent with friends pricesless. It goes without saying I love Bangkok and intend to go there every year simply because the idea of budget shopping for fashion which is ahead of its times (specially for Mumbai) is a very practical thought. So one can buy affordable fashionable and decent quality clothes, accessories, shoes, bags and you need not shop for a year back home. I definitly still want to see the other cities of Chiang Mai and Phuket and Kosa Mui but all in good times.

Professionally I find myself in exciting and testing times when my promotion to becoming Assistant Manager is finally put to practicality. Apart from new employees being hired for the team, we have process to set right, planing for 2011 and Sales to accomplish! I love my job and thats it... despite the infinite amount of negativity and pressure put by Ex - colleagues who left the company in anguish and rage, I sort of tried to identify the reasons on my own for sticking back in the company. And guess what - the fact remains I like the product and believe in it and hence I am here building a better future for incoming employees (or so I hope I can do).

Unsure of what and where I will find myself 10 years from now, currently I am focusing on Career and building my Interest. I do have Visions on all fronts of my life Career, Personal, Self but yet to drawn them into Short and Long Term Goals. However small initatives like going for music concerts (of my choice) planing activities with friend, practicing singing and dance and not giving up on a fitness regime to me are signs of being on the right track - towards Self Actualization.

The first leg of the journey

Wow finally gotten myself to blog! This is my first entry here though I maintain a lot of Journals and Diaries; private till date. This blog is going to give me the opportunity to share few insights and thoughts on broader aspects like career, personal goals, my learning etc with friends and family.

To give you a little brief on where I am right now - Ruchika Gupta currently Asst. Manager - Business Development for Flora2000. Its the only Luxury Floral Gifting brand in India and into exquisite floral decor too. I completed my Post Graduation from MET 2010 and started working at Flora2000 in my last semester. Been truly blessed to have met some amazing colleagues here and there is just so much to learn! Im traveling to Thailand in Oct'10 and have already toured London & Singapore thanks to my Two elder sisters who have been living abroad for years now...
Super excited about my upcoming Holiday :) will start putting up pictures here (some motivation to finally start taking good pictures ;) I totally regret not taking enough pics of the earlier trips.

Right so Flora2000 happened by chance to me... The first company on campus for final placements and although I registered only to see whats in store; must be honest I dint exactly wanna sit for the recruitment process that time as my interest were in the Hospitality Sector. My friend however was extremely keen on getting recruited by Flora - and tried her best attempt too, but it was destiny indeed that I was selected despite my worst foot forward and she was rejected.
I entered a Team (Business Development) with a well chalked out structure in place, extremely supportive colleagues and the typical  nonchalant  Manager. With time and circumstances which I will not talk publicly; the team crashed. Excessive frustration, no strategy or direction, lack of thought process, the employees found their way out and that left a Department with me alone. Now reporting directly to my Founder/CEO and some brilliant insights from him coupled with the efforts of my ex-colleagues; I find myself in a much better position to deliver results and strategize. There is so much to learn from our CEO considering his ample years of experience yet the enthusiasm to run the business and constantly innovating! Flora2000 is a growing brand with a very bright business potential and that keeps me hooked onto it. I have with it realized the importance of gifting to maintain relations both personal and professional. I have helped out our clients from basic flower requirements for birthday to helping propose another and now doing wedding decor. Exciting times ahead must say!
